Whole Sign Houses
The oldest and simplest system: the whole rising sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on.
How it works
Whatever degree is rising, the entire sign it falls in becomes the 1st house. With Scorpio rising, Scorpio is the 1st house, Sagittarius the 2nd, Capricorn the 3rd. Every house is exactly one sign, 30° wide.
Who uses it
It was the main system of Hellenistic astrology and remains the standard of Vedic astrology. It works at every latitude. Because the Midheaven floats, it can land in the 9th, 10th or 11th house.
See it in your own chart
Astrool calculates your full birth chart, not just your sun sign, and writes your daily, weekly and monthly readings against it.
