Placidus Houses
The default house system of modern Western astrology, which divides each quadrant of the sky by the time it takes a degree to rise.
How it works
Named after the 17th-century monk Placidus de Titis, the system trisects the time each degree takes to travel from the horizon to the meridian. The result: unequal houses, the Ascendant on the 1st cusp and the Midheaven on the 10th.
Strengths and limits
Placidus ties the houses closely to the daily motion of the sky and is the default in most Western software and books. Above about 66° latitude, some degrees never rise, and the system breaks down; whole-sign or equal houses are used instead. See all house systems.

Astrool calculates your full birth chart, not just your sun sign, and writes your daily, weekly and monthly readings against it.
Common questions
Why are Placidus houses different sizes?
Because some signs rise faster than others, depending on your latitude.
Does Astrool use Placidus?
Yes, by default for Western charts. Other systems can be chosen in settings.
