Manglik Dosha (Mangal Dosha)

A placement of Mars in certain houses that tradition links to a fiery, impatient side in relationships. A point of care, not a curse.

Manglik Dosha (Mangal Dosha)

Definition

A chart is Manglik (Mangal dosha, Kuja dosha) when Mars occupies the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house, counted from the Lagna, and in many traditions also from the Moon and Venus. Roughly 40–50% of charts qualify by at least one count.

In matching

Tradition holds that Mars here brings intensity and impatience to marriage. In Guna Milan, it is weighed against the partner's chart, and two Manglik charts are considered to balance each other. Many cancellation rules exist: Mars in its own sign, aspected by Jupiter, or the person being over 28.

A dosha is a point of awareness, not a verdict. Astrool reports Manglik status plainly and never uses it to sell fear.

Common questions

Am I Manglik?

The Vedic Birth Chart report checks Mars' house from the Lagna and tells you.

Can a Manglik marry a non-Manglik?

Yes. Many traditional cancellations apply, and the full match matters more than one factor.
