Abhijit Muhurta
About 48 minutes around local midday: the most favourable window of the day, chosen for starting important things.
Definition
The day from sunrise to sunset is divided into 15 muhurtas. The 8th, centred on local noon, is Abhijit ("victorious"). It is said to neutralise many other doshas, which is why it is a fallback when no other good time is available.
Exceptions
By tradition it is not observed on Wednesday. When it overlaps Rahu Kaal, use only the part outside it. The Panchang handles both automatically.

Common questions
What time is Abhijit muhurta today?
It depends on your local noon; the Panchang shows it for your city.
Why is Abhijit not observed on Wednesday?
Tradition holds it is weakened on Budhavara; the reason given varies by text.
