Yamaganda

Another eighth of daylight, considered a poor time to start long-term or important work.

Yamaganda

Definition

Yamaganda (Yamagandam) is calculated like Rahu Kaal: daylight is split into eight parts and one is chosen by weekday (5th on Sunday, 4th Monday, 3rd Tuesday, 2nd Wednesday, 1st Thursday, 7th Friday, 6th Saturday). It is associated with Yama, the lord of death, and avoided for important starts. Today's window is in the Panchang.
