Reversed Tarot Cards
Cards that land upside down, which many readers interpret as the card's energy blocked, turned inward, delayed or overdone.
Ways to read a reversal
- Blocked: the energy is present but cannot flow
- Internal: it is happening privately rather than outwardly
- Delayed: it is coming but not yet
- Excess or lack: too much or too little of the upright meaning
Not every reader uses reversals; some read every card upright and let neighbouring cards provide nuance. Astrool's tarot includes reversals and explains each in context.

Astrool calculates your full birth chart, not just your sun sign, and writes your daily, weekly and monthly readings against it.
Common questions
Is a reversed card always negative?
No. A reversed Tower, for example, can mean a crisis averted or handled internally.
Do Lenormand cards reverse?
Traditionally, no; Lenormand reads all cards upright.
