Ephemeris
A table listing where the Sun, Moon and planets are on each day, the raw data every birth chart and transit is calculated from.
Definition
An ephemeris (plural ephemerides) gives the zodiac longitude of each planet, usually at midnight or noon, for every day across years or centuries. It also marks retrograde stations, sign changes and lunar phases. Astrologers once drew charts by hand from printed ephemerides; software now computes positions to arc-second precision.
How Astrool uses it
Every chart in Astrool, from the natal chart to synastry and astrocartography, is calculated from a real astronomical ephemeris for your exact birth minute and coordinates, not from sign tables.
See it in your own chart
Astrool calculates your full birth chart, not just your sun sign, and writes your daily, weekly and monthly readings against it.
Common questions
Why does an ephemeris matter?
It is the difference between a chart calculated for your exact moment and a generic sun-sign description.
Is an ephemeris astrology or astronomy?
The positions are astronomy. Interpreting them is astrology.
