Cusp
The dividing line between two signs or two houses, and what it really means to be "born on the cusp".
Sign cusps
The Sun changes sign on slightly different dates each year. Someone born on 20 April might be Aries one year and Taurus another. Astronomically, at any given minute the Sun is in exactly one sign, so a properly calculated chart settles the question; being "a cusp" is a popular idea rather than a technical one. Planets near a boundary can still feel like a blend.
House cusps
In astrology the cusp of a house is its starting line. The 1st house cusp is the Ascendant, the 10th the Midheaven in quadrant systems. How the others are placed depends on the house system.
